- I just dumped Imagine 4 for LW to, 2 month ago welcome to the club.

- LW 4 is expensive (Dutch Fl 1995,00).
- Can render single sided polygons (doesn't render backs of objects).
- Works with surfaces (mapping to specific polygons).
- Is used for Bab5, and space A A Beyond.
- Animates with keyframe positions and paths.
- Nicer lensflares.
- Lot's of plug-ins:
- Explosions, Particle animations (sparks fountain),
- realtime rotating solid preview (powerview),
- special effects (wave maker), object+texture morphing,
- Importing of other formats Imagine, studio3d, autocad, etc.
- rendering in exotic formats like Targa, jpeg and Tiff (HIIP plugin)
- preview anims from any view top, side, camera, perspectve, etc.
- Watch-the-render screen.
- Sexy glows and lensflares.
- Metallic objects don't look like plastic.
- Better mapping than Imagine.
- Linear and log-curves on light intensity, acceleration etc.
- Easyer modeller than lightwave.
- On grid point/object placement.
-
- That should be enough for now ;)
